World War II Evacuee Experience

Woodcocks’ Well CE Primary School & Congleton Museum are working together to provide a truly memorable visit, packed with quality learning opportunities for all primary school children. This is a split site visit offering complementary experiences, which can be modified to suit your requirements.

At Woodcocks’ Well, children will learn about life as an evacuee through:

    • Luggage labels and Identity Cards
    • Rationing and handling old money and artefacts
    • Gas mask drill
    • Air Raid and Anderson Shelter
    • Songs of the time
    • Wartime Lunches (Available upon request at £2.10 per head)

 At Congleton Museum, children will learn about  life as a child in London during World War II through:

    • Questioning a veteran with first hand experience
    • Handling scale models of bombs and air raid shelters
    • Handling artefacts
    • Participation in a foot drill

 Cost £6.00 per pupil
