Do you remember Burns’ garage when it was in Park Street ? Or the old corn mill dominating the entrance to the park? Maybe you can recall the Premier Cinema in Lawton Street ? If you want to be reminded of the way things were, or find out how Congleton has changed over the past 100 years, you can do no better than read Joan Alcock’s new book, Congleton Through Time. Dr Alcock will be signing copies of her book at the museum on 15th May from 6.30pm. Then, at 7pm, she will give a talk about the making of the book, describing how and why particular photographs were chosen. Further personal reminiscences will be welcomed from anyone who wishes to contribute.Admission is free (although donations will be welcome).
