The Importance of Water

Water has been important in the development of Congleton as both a means of transport and an industrial resource for the tanning and textile trades. The provision of drinking water and an effective sewage disposal system was still concerning the town as late as the 1960s.

Halloween Ghost Walk

Starting from the museum and ending up for ghoulish games at Visyon in Fellowship House:  17:00 a walk for accompanied children 17:30 and 18:30 walks for older children and adults  Tickets (from the museum or tourist office) £1 – under 5s £2 – older children and adults £6 – Group ticket (up to 5 –max 2 adults) For the 17:00 walk accompanying adults will only pay £1  Fancy dress optional. Prizes for the best home made outfits.
