Until 1937, Buglawton was a separate entity with it’s own Urban District Council. Use this walk to discover how this industrial township grew up during the 18th and 19th centuries around the confluence of the River Dane and the Dane in Shaw Brook. Congleton During the Second World War a talk by Lyndon Murgatroyd at Congleton Museum, Thursday 28th April at 2pm. This talk will focus on what life was like in Congleton from 1939-45. It will use headline stories from The Chronicle on a year by year basis and will also cover war stories from Congleton people serving in the forces at that time. Talk is free to members and £2 per head for non members.

A Pub Crawl through Time

This walk will seek out those long lost drinking establishments and look at how those which still exist have changed over the years. The long anticipated Cheshire Hoards will be open from Saturday July 2nd 2016 at Congleton Museum. Delivered in partnership with The Museum of Liverpool. The Malpas Hoard, found in 2014, is a group of Iron Age and Roman coins buried in the mid-1st century AD, shortly after the Roman conquest of Britain. The Knutsford Hoard, found in 2012, is a group of Roman coins and jewellery items, including three large and decorative silver gilt brooches. These items were buried in…
