Behind the Scenes – Congleton Museum Textiles Group

The museum will be hosting a ‘Behind the Scenes’ event with the Museum Textiles Group on Friday May 23 between 3pm and 6pm. This will be an opportunity to view the Congleton Tapestry before restoration is complete and it is hung on the walls of the museum’s entrance hall. A Pub Crawl through Time

World War 1 Weaving

A large World War One commemorative weaving is being created at Congleton Museum by Trish Lovell. Every Saturday from the 9th August to the end of November, Trish will be at the museum creating the large green field to which poppies can be attached. Rode Hall Silver Band exhibition

Congleton Museum is proud to host a special exhibition on the Rode Hall Silver Band. Established in 1837 to lead parishioners from Scholar Green to Astbury Church, the band is now a staple of local events and celebrations. Included in the display is an 1837 brass drum, still used by the band, along with information about the band’s membership during the two world wars. This free exhibit is open until September 8th.
