Congleton Museum is run almost entirely by volunteers with little regular grant aid. It has to be financed through fund raising. Becoming a Friend of Congleton Museum can help us in two ways.
If you have time to spare, perhaps you could help us out in some way, and pay for your membership with your time. We need people to staff our reception desk during opening hours, do research, do administrative work, transcribe old documents, register new acquisitions, help with refreshments at events, construct exhibitions – the tasks are endless. If you can’t commit to a regular time each week, there are many jobs which can be done whenever you have a spare hour or two.
If you don’t have time to be a volunteer, you can pay for your membership with money. Unfortunately we need cash to pay the bills – and provide the volunteers with tea and coffee! The more paying members we have, the more the museum can do.
Friends are automatically members of Congleton Museum Trust, giving you the right to vote at the annual general meeting and elect the trustees who manage the museum. You also get invitations to talks held in the education room, access to library and research facilities and a regular newsletter.
Single membership: £15
