Congleton Museum would like to thank everyone who donated items to our stand at the Christmas Lights Switch On last Friday (22nd November).
We would also like to thank all the volunteers and trustees who braved the cold to run the stall. Special thanks go to Diane Ritherdon for organising the stall and Bill Pegley for running the Shove-Ha’penny game throughout the night. We raised a welcome £142 for the museum after expenses!
Museum volunteer, Jamie Campbell, is pictured encouraging passers-by to try their luck on the tombola.
Never mind MAKE DO AND MEND…the priority for Aggie and Ada yesterday was to keep the (Church) Fires Burning!!!!
Please visit Congleton Museum’s gift shop for your special Christmas presents and cards. In addition to offering a selection of local history books, our artisans’ corner features hand made Christmas and Greetings cards.
Our talented volunteers and Friends of the Museum have made wine glass chains, jesters’ hats, tree decorations and knitted teddies. You will also find a range of individually designed jewellery including necklaces, bracelets, earrings and gift sets. For something different come to the museum shop and view their work.
Friends of the Museum, volunteers and LoveLocalLife card holders receive a 10% discount!
The museum recently said goodbye to volunteer Sam Astbury. Sam has found paid employment and has moved to Kent. We really enjoyed getting to know Sam during his two years with us. As well as greeting visitors on our front desk two days a week, Sam was instrumental in setting up the museum’s social media presence and co-ordinating event publicity. Congleton Museum wishes Sam the best of luck with his future endeavours, and hopes that he will keep in touch!
