Walk – Mill Walks and Industrial Yarns
June 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm£3.50 – £6
It is difficult to imagine that rural Congleton was one of the earliest mill towns. Its first and largest silk mill was erected in 1752, long before Arkwright’s mills at Cromford. This walk will aim to show the extent of the town’s textile heritage and how it influenced the lives of its inhabitants.
