We will collect the personal details you choose to provide (eg your name and email address) which allow you to join the Friends of Congleton Museum, receive our electronic newsletters and take part in polls and surveys.
This information will be retained by us for as long as is reasonably necessary and to maintain records as required to satisfy tax and other legal or regulatory requirements. We will retain your details for 3 months after non-renewal of membership and/or 3 months after you last volunteered unless you have given instructions to the contrary
CMT tracks user traffic patterns throughout all of our sites, which allows us to tailor our content to readers’ needs. We do not correlate this information with data about individuals.
Donations and loans of artefacts
Personal details are collected about anyone who gives, loans or otherwise transfers any artefact to the museum, as required by Arts Council England regulations to provide proof of the transaction and a long term audit trail. This information is held in paper records and the content added to COMACS, our collection management system. These records are retained long term.
We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior parental consent.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
CMT operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers.

Your rights over your data
