Roman Week 2026

 

With more than ten hands-on activities available every day, visitors can explore Roman history through making, experimenting, dressing up and discovery.

🔁 Daily activities (every day):

  • Roman numerals trail around the museum
  • Dress like a Roman – soldier armour and toga station
  • Write on a Roman wax tablet
  • Learn the Roman (Latin) alphabet
  • Grind grain and explore Roman food
  • Roman spice scent challenge
  • Roman hygiene: how did Romans keep clean?
  • What have the Romans done for us? (interactive game)
  • Roman engineering: build a road & use a plumb bob

  • Thursday 19 Feb – Roman Shields
  • Friday 20 Feb – Roman Coins
  • Saturday 21 Feb – Be an Archaeologist
