There are many street names which can be found in most towns, such as High Street or West Street, while there are others which are more individual, based on family names or local events or landmarks. In this booklet the author explains the origins of descriptions such alley, passage, and crescent before setting out the sources of specific street names in the town such as Moody Street, Wagg Street, Green Island, Fol Hollow and Lamberts Lane.
