The Shop

The shop is situated just inside the museum entrance and specialises in local history items and souvenirs.

We have over 100 booklets, priced from £1 to £4.50, written by local historians Peter Boon, Ray Rowe, Ian Doughty, Joan Alcock, Lyndon Murgatroyd, Albert Williams, David Jackson,
Catherine Howarth and David Daniel. Samples of each booklet are available for browsing. A full list is provided on the drop-down tab under ‘shop’.

The museum stocks a variety of books  from self help books on collecting and researching, books on local history and regional history. Books by local authors Lyndon Murgatroyd and Joan Alcock are also on sale.

A wide range of pocket money items, with a historical interest are on display, from replica (and some original) coins to inert bullets. Notebooks, mobile phone stylus, pens, fridge magnets and souvenir erasers are affordable to take home as a reminder of your visit.

Our busy volunteers have made a variety of original greetings cards. If you want your card to stand out as individual, visit our display.

There are several volunteer made gift items including jewellery, decorative items and, of course, cards!
